The people behind
the growth
the growth
Ucomy helps online businesses win more customers and bring their products to buyers around the world. This is who we are and how we got here.
Who we are
We are a technology and commerce company. We build the tools that help online businesses grow, and we sell online ourselves — which is the reason the tools work.
Most of our team came from the operating side of e-commerce. We have written the product descriptions, argued about ad budgets, chased a shipment that never arrived, and answered the customer who wrote in at midnight. That experience is not a marketing line for us; it is why we are able to tell a client what will actually move the needle and what will only look busy.
How we started
Ucomy began with a small observation. Plenty of businesses are good at making something worth buying, and far fewer are good at putting it in front of the right people. Almost none of them find selling to another country easy — the language changes, the way people shop changes, and the expectations after the sale change with it.
We started building software to fix the parts of that job that a computer should be doing, and we kept selling online while we did it. Every product we have shipped since came out of a problem we hit ourselves first.
What we believe
Four things guide most of the decisions we make, whether it is a product call or how we handle a difficult conversation with a client.
1. Useful beats impressive
A feature that quietly saves someone an hour a week is worth more than one that demos well and gets used twice.
2. Operators, not spectators
We use what we make. If something is painful for our own team, we do not ask a customer to live with it.
3. Say the honest thing
If a plan will not work, we say so before the money is spent — even when the easier answer would win us the project.
4. Play the long game
We would rather grow slowly with clients who stay than quickly with ones who leave after a quarter.
How we work
We keep teams small and close to the customer. The person building a feature is usually the person who heard the complaint that led to it, and nothing sits in a queue for a quarter waiting for a committee.
We ship often and in small pieces, because a change that reaches real users this month teaches us more than a perfect plan that lands next year. When something breaks, we say so plainly and fix it, rather than hoping nobody noticed.
And we stay involved after launch. A project that goes live and then goes quiet is not a success to us — it is an account we stopped paying attention to.
